Portraits of Melbourne Connection Sessions – Creative, Romantic, Fun, and Emotive.

What is a Connection Session

A connection session is simply another name for a portrait photoshoot. I prefer to call them a “connection session” because I feel this is the essence of what makes my work different and it is what we are trying to achieve during the photoshoot. Indeed, it is something I am looking for in my own life. By calling these photoshoots connection sessions rather than a pre-wedding photoshoot, or an engagement photoshoot, I am trying to get at the heart of what is important in the photographs we make for you.

And what is also cool is that anyone can have a connection session with me. Young couples about to get married. Newly engaged couples. Older couples that want something special for an anniversary present, it really does not matter. The only thing required is a willingness to be open.

In the video below, Belle & Christian are actually clients. they are not models and were very nervous going into the session. After receiving her images Belle said: “I have no words, these are incredible! Thank you so much for your time and effort. Again, thank you for capturing such beautiful moments.”

How do I get such intimate photos?

Whether it be a young couple, newlyweds, a mother and child, or an older couple that has been married for a long time, my approach is the same – to help people connect. When I see this connection I click my shutter. But to get to that point can take a little time and I have my own little tactics to help you during the session.

The sessions typically take between 60-90 mins. The location can be anywhere – the beach, a forest, your home, anywhere.
