Documentary-style Wedding Photography – captured naturally, just as it happened, from wherever you are, with love.

What – Melbourne Wedding Photography

I’m interested in the real emotions, real expressions, real smiles, real tears. I never ask my couples of anything that is not them. When you back at your photos I want you to see yourself and remember what you felt like in that very moment. This is how your wedding photos should make you feel.

I want to make the images I capture fro you as beautiful as I possibly can so I shoot wedding and portrait photography with a focus on combining fine-art and documentary photography. I believe it is this combination that make photography something special. Why – Wedding Photography Is Important

Here’s the thing. Wedding photography is important. It is important because each wedding marks the start of something new. something truly meaningful. Weddings are firstly about people. They are about raw human emotion. They are about connections beyond anything physical. And I believe this is true because I believe that in capturing these fleeting moments of raw connection between people we are given a rare glimpse beyond the mask people present to the world and into the essence of being. It is up to me to find these moments on your wedding day and capture them for others to see. Weddings give a photographer a rare platform to do this. For that reason wedding photography is important and I shoot weddings because this is what is important to me.
“Clarke was such an excellent an addition to our wedding day. He blended in seamlessly during preparations and captured such beautiful, natural images that we will treasure always. So thrilled with his work! ”- Kate & Rob Saade.

What does that mean? It means I take a candid approach to capturing real moments during a wedding day that tells an overall story of the day in unobstructive manner while making the images as aesthetically beautiful as possible.

I shoot with small Fujifilm mirrorless cameras because this allows me to get in the middle of the action without being noticed. Also, I don’t overly pose couples either. I tend more towards capturing what is in front of me but I will pose and move people around in order to make the most beautiful image I can for more couples. This is something we would chat about in the consultation phase.

“Thank you for your overall professionalism throughout the day, for your courtesy with all of the guests and for your ability to “blend into the crowd” while shooting, thus providing us with the type of candid pictures we were looking for. You will be highly recommended by both of us. Thank you, Clarke”. – Sam & Jonny Maldando

What’s next? It all starts with an email.

I’d love to chat about your day and how I go about capturing natural candids and beautiful simple portraits. Some couples like to come down to my studio space in Abbotsford, others like Skype, and some like to take care of it all over email. I’m happy to do any of these. It’s up to you how we proceed from here.

“Clarke was amazing at our wedding and a friendly guy. Our photos turned out absolutely amazing and the moments he captured I will cherish forever. Cannot recommend Clarke enough. Very talented photographer” – Tania & Dane Harkin
